It creates the look of a salon blowout without blow drying, February 2, 2008 By B. Cook "BDC" (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hot Tools Professional Spring Curling Iron for Gentle Curls & Volume-2" My long thick hair naturally dries into massive frizzy untamed curly ringlets, so I have three choices to style it - 1. Pantene leave in overnight conditioner packets (which are now discontinued) worked in wet somehow styles my mop of hair into this gorgeous polished Dyan Cannon style, 2. A flatiron to make waves from curls (twist 2" of hair into a curl between your fingers and then flat iron each for 8 seconds (it lasts for 4 days) 3. Or I use this Hot Tools 2" curling iron to quickly straighten my hair (even without blowdrying, which I hate to do anyway). I only use this brand, and I'm ready for my third because I wear them out with years of use. I've tried others but this one is stronger, gets hotter, and it seems to lock when you grab the hair so it doesnt slip out. I've taken this one with me all over the world. It's the closest thing I have in my posession to creating the look of a salon blowout. If you're anything like me, and it's almost impossible for you to recreate that... Read more

I get so many compliments on my hair all the time. I have thick, coarse hair so I really use it more for a straightener than anything....it straightens my hair and gives it a little curl on the ends for a "fuller" look to my hair. I don't like my hair completely flat to my head and this gives me a nice look of straight hair with alot of body. The only feature I wish it had was the automatic shut-off feature just in case you ever left it on. Nice heavy duty cord....long enough to move around a bit without coming unplugged!!

My hair has ranged from a crew cut to one length down to my knees. Right now, I am growing it back out; it's 3" below my shoulders, all in one length.
I have been using Hot Tools brand professional line styling products for the past 20+ years. I have found that they are the best of the best and will not buy any other. You don't need to preheat these like other irons because they get hot within seconds. I own every size Marcel curling iron from the 1/2" to the 1-1/2" and the spring 2" curling iron as well as their ionizing blow dryer and the interchangeable size hot air brush. The only product I own that's not Hot Tools is my hot rollers, they are Remington Ceramic Rollers. HT didn't make a set that I liked, so I picked these since I needed large rollers. I don't use medium/small ever, and I needed a large set with more than 5 in them. HT does make a set of 12 (Hot Tools Hairsetter 12 pc.), but I don't know of anyone... Read more
