Straighten and curl with one product, October 14, 2010 By This review is from: Nume Vintage Purple (Misc.) I bought this iron in pink today at a kiosk in my local mall. My hair before the sales person demonstrated on me was frizzy loose curls that I had created the day before with a round brush and my blow dryer. The first thing the rep did was show me a loose curl created with the flat iron. It was shiny, soft, smooth, and very much frizz free. I was totally impressed because my current flat iron is bulky and I have to pass my hair through it a couple of times to get it totally flat (even with its steam feature), but not with the Nu Me...one pass and it was beautiful. The MSRP on the box was $275. The rep offered to sell for $139, but I ended up getting him down to $99. (Looks like I saved about $15 compared to Amazon prices.) I also purchased one of the iron holders with suction cups (he said price was $49...purchased for $15.) I came straight home and stared practicing doing curls. I only gave 4 stars since I haven't even had it a day.

Waste of my Money, March 27, 2012 This review is from: Nume Vintage Purple (Misc.) I bought this straightener because I was going to live in London for 4 months and I wanted a straightener that I could take all over Europe. After two weeks the straightener stopped working. The fact that it says it's a dual voltage is a lie. It simply won't last...don't waste your time or money unless you're staying the States.
Works very well abroad, March 11, 2012 This review is from: Nume Vintage Purple (Misc.) I travel overseas from the US approximately 75-80% of the year. For this reason, I wanted to keep things simple and have a hair straightener that worked in outlets in both the US and abroad, AND that worked well at straightening my very course, curly hair. This straightener was the perfect solution. I am only giving it 4 stars because the first one I ordered stopped working after one use in Europe (after working in the US a couple of times), but the seller was gracious enough to send another as a replacement. I have been using it for months now - it is my savior. Keeps my hair straight and sleek all around the world. I highly recommend this product!
