First flat iron that ever worked for me, March 13, 2007 By Eurorule (Sarasota - FL) - See all my reviews I have think curly hair and this flat iron is wonderful! I do blow-dry first to get my hair as straight as possible, but iron straightens and smoothes my hair beautifully. It also adds shine to it. I DO use straightening product before blow-drying and a little bit before straightening - it seems to prevent split ends. The most important aspect is with all the humidity we have in Florida, I no longer have to worry about bad hair days - it smoothes the hair so well, it helps to withstand humidity. The width works well with thick hair and gives me sufficient control for each lock.

The only weird thing wasn't with the product - it was with the wrapping... it was packaged in like a brown paper shopping bag. But, I give the item 5 stars because it's perfect! I have super thick hair so the larger iron is better for me. I had the 1" before (and airport security broke it... grr.) and it was great as well! But, this larger iron (while a tad heavier)does the job faster for thick haired people!
Love FHI!!!! FHI >>>>> CHI (and all the others ) because it gets HOTTER and heats up faster! :) (450degrees F!!!)
