2 of 2 people found the following review helpful First flat iron that ever worked for me, March 13, 2007 By  Eurorule (Sarasota - FL) - See all my reviews I have think curly hair and this flat iron is wonderful! I do blow-dry first to get my hair as straight as possible, but iron straightens and smoothes my hair beautifully. It also adds shine to it. I DO use straightening product before blow-drying and a little bit before straightening - it seems to prevent split ends. The most important aspect is with all the humidity we have in Florida, I no longer have to worry about bad hair days - it smoothes the hair so well, it helps to withstand humidity. The width works well with thick hair and gives me sufficient control for each lock. This review is from: FHI Flat Iron 1.25" Plate (Misc.) The only weird thing wasn't with the product - it was with the wrapping... it was packaged in like a brown paper shopping bag. But, I give the item 5 stars because it's perfect! I have super thick hair so the larger iron is better for me. I had the 1" before (and airport security broke it... grr.) and it was great as well! But, this larger iron (while a tad heavier)does the job faster for thick haired people! Love FHI!!!! FHI >>>>> CHI (and all the others ) because it gets HOTTER and heats up faster! :) (450degrees F!!!)
