She had no reason to not trust the glove because it was made for high heat. And she said there is no clamp to hold the hair...DUH thats the whole point behind this product...that way you wont have indents in your hair where the clamp was holding the hair tightly. This is a GREAT product! I too have to hold the hair pretty good to the wand but I wear the glove and have NEVER burned myself through the glove. It is made to handle the heat. I love having curls with no dents from a clamp. I have long hair so this curling iron makes gorgeous waves in my hair. If you have shorter hair I am sure it will create more of a ringlet but the length of my hair weighs it down to create pretty pretty waves. I have given it 5+ stars for its ridiculously quick heat-up (not to mention how hot it gets), for the fact that it can create a perfect spiral curl in less than 5 seconds, and for how light the wand itself is. Also, it is very easy to use and it comes with a glove to protect you from burns. The only fallback on this wand is that there is no telling of when the wand is ready to use, unlike on all other curling devices there is a light that goes on when it's ready. There is no light on the wand, however as I said, it heats up very quickly. Just make sure you are careful once you plug the wand in.
