My daughter has thick, wavy hair and trying to get it straight would usually take us at least an hour using the different flat irons we've tried in the past. Even though we try to do it in small sections, we still end up doing at least three passes which I'm sure could cause a lot of damage to the hair. Got tired of 'em and decided to do perm straightening, which only lasts a couple of months 'coz her hair grows fast. Who wants to use chemicals every 2 months? We saw this flat iron in a shopping center, loved it when they demo'ed, but asking $180 for it. I was so happy to find it here for less than $75. Daughter loves the fact that it does not pull on her hair, and gets hot enough to straighten on the first run. She can now go from wavy to straight in a matter of minutes. Thanks Amazon!

I first bought this item in 2009 at the L.A. County Fair. I was not sure about how it would really work for me but was in need and thought I would give this one a try as I watched them work on various heads of hair. When I finally tried it at home LOVED IT! Took me some time to learned how it worked best in curling and straighening my hair. When my hair would have static from the blow dryer this thing took it away! Awesome! Reason I purchased new one is the cord on the orginal one tore open right behind the stem. Ugh! My search for a new one brought me here to Amazon as the original company has priced these item way too high.
